Thanks.

I hope this works. Downloading from Mac App Store directly isn't working for me; I've gotten to 100% 6 times now, at which point the download fails.

Please seed, folks ;)
I tried with Diskmaker and Didn´t work
I mounted image and BaseSystem.dmg is missing
Any Help?
I was going to use this for my Hackintosh, but Unibeast says that the "installer is incomplete" and that I must delete the installer and download from the App Store again.

Maybe it will work if you are just doing a regular install, I don't know.
FYI, I just confirmed that the contained Install OS X Yosemite.app is the official version with SHA-1 checksum: eebf02a20ac27665a966957eec6f5e6fe3228a19

So while the .dmg file itself has been modified somewhat to advertise a website, the actual installer and its files is untampered and any problems installing this should be attributed to OS X Yosemite itself.
quaternio: Wasted about 9Gb trying to do it that way, the App store is crap.
This files doesn't work with Unibeast. Says "Unibeast says that the "installer is incomplete" and stops.
DO NOT DOWNLOAD THIS FILE. The version is 14A387, which is not the final version. WTF.
This torrent was soooo slow to download that I chose to try App Store instead...
@joe1897 is right!
It's the 14A387 BUILD not the latest (14A389)

@LoveMaker94

This is build (14A389). maybe you both didn't do a clean install? Upgraded from 10.10 Beta or something hence the different build number?
it don't work fine, i can't see baseinstall.dmg in installESD.dmg.How to burn to usb for install hackintosh?
Thanks jnd (2014-10-17 21:28 CET), your all over it! :D Cheers!

Hey guys. I'm a Windows user and considering to switch to mac, but as I do not know much about OS X, I am not sure what version to install on my Intel Desktop. Could anyone tell me what version to install on my everyday PC ? I'd really appreciate some guidance from OS X users.
Ok, so for some reason my comment just disappeared... Anyway, I'm a Windows user looking for a new OS and considering to switch to OS X, but I'm not sure what version to download for my Intel Desktop as I've never used OS X before neither do I know much about it. Any suggestions ?
and my previous comment re appeared again.. wtf, lol, sorry guys
Technically, I don't see ONE SINGLE comment that either suggests what to do with this, or indicates that it works well.
Are ALL the comments from PC users having issues? That's a little hard to believe.
What's the deal?
im trying this on my macbook pro and it doesnt seem to work ( im getting a grey flashing folder with question mark )
i did write a 16 GB transend flashdrive with win32 disk manager
Can this version be burned so its bootable and how??
1. Mount the .dmg
2. Copy OS X to Applications
3. Use DiskMaker X http://liondiskmaker.com
4. Done

(You'll need an usb stick at least 8GB !)
Will this work on an AMD machine ? AMD Athlon II X2 260, ASUS M4N68T-M LE V2, 4GB DDR 3,
ASUS HD7750-1GD5-V2 and 1 TB HDD.
Tried the AMD build? Theres a different kernel. Running vanilla or even modded x86 intel kernels just dont work on AMD systems, especially newer ones. AMD releases work even on APU systems.990FX boards tested up to mountain lion to work. I guess no one has the money for a 9590...except ME.
I think most of these complaints/concerns/confusions are from windows users. I have a 2011 macbook pro which was previously running snow leopard and this download worked great. Set the download location to an external hard drive and then just launch it and install.
It wont install on DiskMaker, just makes an error.
Can someone please help? I am a PC user and limited knowledge of Mac. I have one with no OS installed. I have downloaded and tried so many downloads for the OS. So many wasted DVDs and time trying USB drives. The only thing I can figure out is that the installations are only upgrades instead of bootable. Can someone direct me to a copy that I can simply burn to a disk and boot from disc and install the OS? Thanks!
i'm getting an error on Mountain Lion after it tries to install that it cannot be verified and that it may have been corrupted or tampered with when downloading.

I get this same error with a few other Yosemite installers.
If you get the error message "This copy of the Install OS X Yosemite application can’t be verified. It may have been corrupted or tampered with during downloading." it is most likely not a problem with the installer, but rather an expired certificate.

Please see the article "Previously Downloaded OS X Installers No Longer Work": http://tidbits.com/article/16302. Fortunately, there is a very easy workaround for this.
The above article was linked from here: "This copy of the Install OS X Yosemite application can’t be verified. It may have been corrupted or tampered with during downloading. | Need Help 4 Mac": http://www.needhelp4mac.com/2014/10/this-copy-of-the-install-os-x-yosemite-application-cant-be-verified-it-may-have-been-corrupted-or-tampered-with-during-downloading/
If you set your Date & Time prior to the date mentioned above before installing you can bypass the hitch, and the installer works normally. Simply set it back after the installation is complete and you're good to go. If you purchased the software before it was removed from the App Store it can be re-downloaded from the Purchases tab in your App Store account, and it should have an updated certificate.
